A private alternative to big-platform video meetings
If you want video meetings without handing your calls to a large third-party platform, ZengoMeet is built for that. It differs from typical hosted meeting platforms in two main ways.
Two differences
- Self-hosted: calls run on infrastructure Zengo Hosting LLC controls, so no third-party video platform sits between you and your call.
- Open-source foundation: ZengoMeet is built on open-source software rather than closed proprietary infrastructure.
What ZengoMeet offers
- Guests join from a link with a display name. No signup and no app install.
- Screen sharing, chat, a collaborative whiteboard, breakout rooms and an optional lobby, all on the Free plan
- Free meetings hold up to 10 participants, including the host
- No cookies
What to check before you switch
Every tool has trade-offs. Before choosing, compare the things your team relies on: meeting size, features, and compliance needs. ZengoMeet's Free plan is capped at 10 participants, it is not currently HIPAA compliant or SOC 2 certified, and the Pro and Business plans are not billable yet. See the FAQ for current details.
